HUGH "TWO FEATHERS" THOMPSON

Hugh "Two Feathers" Thompson passed away unexpectedly on September 23, 2012 at Lompoc Valley Medical Center. Hugh was born April 17, 1940 in Clymer, Pennsylvania to Charlotte and Robert Thompson. He was a proud and patriotic 24 year Army veteran having served one tour in Vietnam. After retiring, he moved his family to Lompoc where he worked and retired from Lompoc Unified School District as a gardener. Hugh was the Ambassador for 'Donate Life, California Organ Donation', and star of T.A.P.S. TV program,"Hugh's Views". Hugh was a member of the BPOE #2274 Lompoc Elks Lodge and the Lompoc Valley CB Club. He was a devoted volunteer for the R.A.O. (Retiree Activity Office) at Vandenberg AFB; the Guadalupe Retired Veterans Chapter 982, and the Santa Barbara County Rape Crisis Hot Line.

Hugh is survived by his loving wife and confidant of 48 years, Connie Thompson of Lompoc; his son United States Air Force MSgt. Darren Thompson and wife Suzie (Setlock) Thompson, and grandson Matthew Thompson of Hampton, Virginia; daughter Gwendolyn Stiffler of West Palm Beach, Florida, her husband and two sons. Also surviving Hugh "Buddy" are his brother Gary Kitzer of San Diego, California his brothers and sister, Lee, Jack, Dale, Agnes their families all of Michigan.

Services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, October 4, 2012 at the Lompoc Evergreen Cemetery. The California State Honor Guard will render military honors.

Cremation arrangements are in the care of Starbuck-Lind Mortuary.
