Obituary

Inga Kjeldsen Richardson of Lompoc died Tuesday, November 8, 2011, at the age of 76.

Inga was born in Denmark in 1935 to Martha and Julius Kjeldsen Jespersen. She met Bill Richardson in England, and they married in Denmark in 1959. Bill Richardson was in the Air Force. They lived in New Hampshire; Turkey; Vandenberg; and Little Rock, Arkansas. The family settled in Lompoc in 1974.

Inga worked at the Army and Air Force Exchange for 23 years. She retired in 1997 and then worked part-time at Books West, the Vinhus in Solvang, and the Lompoc Staples. Her interests included running, hiking, walking, bicycling, knitting, crocheting, and participating in the Relay for Life every year. She was a member of the Lompoc Elks and Solvang Dania.

Survivors include her daughter Heidi Richardson (and partner Ray Brown) of Sacramento, daughter Karin Richardson (and partner Aaron Aldred) of Sacramento, daughter Mette Richardson of Lompoc, former husband Bill Richardson of Lompoc, sister Grethe and husband Jean Charpentier of Belgium, sister Susanne Jespersen of Denmark, brother Arne and wife Karen Jespersen of Denmark.

She was preceded in death by her parents Martha and Julius Kjeldsen Jespersen and brothers Holger and Ole Jespersen, all in Denmark.

Inga died from ovarian cancer, fighting it for ten years. Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. Services will be held at the Peace Lutheran Church in Lompoc on Sunday, November 13, 2011, at 3:00 p.m. Private interment will be in the Lompoc Evergreen Cemetery.
