Jack Combs of Lompoc died Friday, February 26, 2010, at the age of 76.
Jack was born February 15, 1934, in Saxton, Missouri to Jessie and Helena Combs. Raised and educated in the South Bay area of California, he attended Torrance High School. Formerly of Solvang he started Combs Construction and ran a successful building and remodeling business in Solvang and Lompoc for over 30 years. He has been a resident of Lompoc since 1986.
Jack enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting, fishing and camping.
Jack is survived by his wife of 57 years Doris Combs, daughter Debra Day of Lompoc, son Marvin Combs of Auburn, sisters Margaret Clingerman of Moreno Valley, Judy Dean of Lompoc, Ginny Milan of Lompoc, brothers Jessie Combs, Jr. of Santa Ynez, Jo Combs of Las Vegas, David Combs of Lompoc and Michael Combs, seven grandchildren, Derrick Day, Shawn Day, Ryan Day, Daniel Combs, Stephanie May, Alyson Brilliante and Nicholas Combs, a godchild Kayla Stinson and 9 great grandchildren.
The visitation will be on Tuesday, March 2, from 4-7 pm at Starbuck-Lind Mortuary. The funeral service will be on Wednesday, March 3, at 11 am at Crossroads Community Church, 412 North B Street in Lompoc. Interment will follow in the Lompoc Evergreen Cemetery.
