Obituary

Jack H. Jones passed away peacefully at his home in Lompoc, California on May 18, 2026 at the age of 98, surrounded by his sons and family, Brad,Sarrah,Dianne Jones, Jeff Jones and wife Marley.

Born in Clinton, Oklahoma 1927 to Florence Hill (Jones) & Hercel C. Jones.He was a very loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle and had many others that he loved as family and that called him dad.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Geraldine Lucille Hughes, his sons David Jones and Peter Jones. He is survived by his sons Douglas Jones, Larry Jones and wife Judy of Matthews, North Carolina, Jeff Jones and wife Marley of Shepherd, Montana, Brad Jones and wife Dianne of Lompoc California and 11 grandchildren, numerous step grandchildren and multiple great grandchildren.

Jack served two years and 11 months 1945-1948 in the Navy.

During college, he met Geraldine (Jeri to most) and they were married on June 11, 1949. They both graduated from Oregon State University in June of 1952.

Soon after he began working for Western Electric which later became Lucent then AT&T as an electrical engineer and at Vandenberg AFB for the Titan missile guidance systems.

A member of Lompoc United Methodist Church since 1968 and a deacon, choir member,trustee,care taker for many many years. In his last few years they were still coming to him for electrical and mechanical info dating back to the 70’s.

He loved to camp, travel, hunt and fish, he was a Boy Scout leader, 4-H leader,Telephone Pioneers member.

A family memorial service at the Lompoc Cemetery will be held June 6th @ 11am.

There will be an open church service will be June 6th @ 2pm at the Lompoc Methodist church. Followed by a social gathering for everyone in the fellowship hall.

Jack’s request is for donations be made to the Lompoc United Methodist Church.
