Obituary
James Marshall Hamlin of Lompoc died Wednesday, January 9, 2013 at the age of 76.
Marshall was born July 7, 1936 in Tucson, Arizona to Reigle and Clara Hamlin. His family settled in Lompoc in 1946. After graduating from Lompoc High School he served his country in the United States Air Force.
On June 1, 1956 Marshall married Juanita Flora. He was employed as a bus driver and mechanic for the Lompoc Unified School District for 38 years and was an active member of the La Purisima Catholic Church parish.
Marshall is survived by his wife of 56 years, his sons and their wives Paul and Angie Hamlin of Lompoc, David and Lisa Hamlin of Louisville, Kentucky, Rick and Kathy Hamlin of Angleton, Texas, and Mike and Mary Hamlin of Jacksonville, Florida, seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brothers Bruce and Warren Hamlin, both of Lompoc.
The mass of Christian burial will be at the La Purisima Catholic Church on Thursday, January 17, at 10am followed by private inurnment in the Lompoc Evergreen Cemetery. In lieu of flowers Marshall's family suggests memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society, 1432 Chapala Street, Santa Barbara, CA 93101.
