Memorial services for James Edward Kain, 73, of Lompoc, will be 10 a.m. Friday, May 25, 2007 at Queen of Angels Catholic Church with Msgr. John Fitzgerald officiating. Private burial will be at Oak Hill Memorial Park in
Ballard.
Mr. Kain was born August 4, 1933 in San Francisco to Paul and Kathleen Kain. He served in the Korean War with the U.S. Marines and survived the Battle of Chosin Reservoir. After the war, he enlisted with the U.S. Air Force and was stationed at Vandenberg A.F.B.
He died Saturday, May 19, 2007 in Lompoc.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Helga Kain of Lompoc; daughter, Sylvia Beverly of Solvang; sons, Peter Kain of Sparta Tenn. and James Kain
of Ramstein, Germany; sister, Dorothy Parkes of San Mateo; brothers, Jack Kain of Lompoc and Richard Kain of San Rafael, Calif.; and grandchildren,
Michael and Graham Beverly, Katherine, James and Kirana Kain.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to VIVA, P.O. Box 896, Lompoc 93438.
Cremation arrangements are in the care of Starbuck-Lind Mortuary.
