Funeral services for James P. McLaren, 71, of Lompoc, will be 11 a.m. Friday, May 10, 2013 at the chapel of Starbuck-Lind Mortuary. Burial will follow at Lompoc Evergreen Cemetery.
James was born August 15, 1941 in Los Angeles, Calif. to John and Virginia Frost- McLaren. Jim served in the U.S. Army, and was a Vietnam War Veteran. He was a 44 year resident of Lompoc, and worked for Lockheed Martin at Vandenberg A.F.B. as a mechanical technician on the Titan Intercontinental Missiles. He retired six years ago after 25 years of employment with the company.
He died Friday, May 3, 2013 at Marian Regional Medical Center in Santa Maria.
He is survived by his wife Sylvia of Lompoc; sons James and Mark; daughter Donna; granddaughter Jackie; grandsons Josh and John; brother John McLaren and sister Katherine Heskins.
Visitation hours will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the mortuary.
