James Albert Morr
Born December 9, 1930 Died February 21, 2010 at the age of 79.

James Albert Morr was born and raised in Midland, Michigan and joined the United States Navy in 1948 as a motion picture and deep sea photographer/diver. On December 27, 1950 he married his childhood sweetheart Freda Marie Bow. Jim moved to Lompoc in 1962 after retiring from the United States Navy and several tours of the world. He began work for the 1369th photo squadron at Point Arguello Navy, unitl it became South VAFB. After 30 years of Naval and Civil Service he retired to travel the United States with his wife in their motor home. He showed his love for America and what she stood for through memberships with VFW Post 1717, American Legion 211, DAV, Elks, Fleet reserve, & NRA.

Jim passed away from cancer, peacefully in his home and surround by his family on Sunday, February 21, 2010.He was predeceased by his parents Helen L Morr and Reuben R. Morr, Sisters and Brother-in-laws Janet (Ralph) Iwen, Donna (Bill) Keyes, Brother George Morr and one niece & nephews all of Michigan.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years Freda. His five children and their spouses: Helen and Bill Bough- Lompoc, Cynthia Helms- Lompoc, Barbara Morr- Solvang, Quade and Audrey Morr- Nampa Idaho, Jimmy Morr- Lompoc. Sister-in-law Bert Morr- Burt, Michigan. Grandchildren: Chelsey Williams-Lompoc, Amanda & Bobby Garcia-Lompoc, Krystal & Marcus Ruddy- Nipomo, Rachel & Tony Pirouz- Dallas Penn., Rebecca & Andreas Huld- Nipomo, Awnalee Morr- Los Gatos, QJ Morr-Nampa Idaho, Leeann Morr- Illinois, James, Hanna Jared Morr- Lompoc. Long time family friend Ivy Stienke-Smith and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins, in Michigan.

The family is hosting a Celebration of Jim's life on Friday, February 26th at VFW (Vets Memorial Building upstairs) at 3:00pm. Jim felt very blessed and fulfilled by his life and the family wishes to honor him by sharing his incredible story with friends so please join us. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to honor our U.S. Military.
