Obituary

James Franklin O'Guin of Lompoc died October 10, 2021, at the age of 92.  James was born November 11, 1928, in Los Angeles, California.

James began his military service with the United States Army.  He then enlisted with Army Air Corp.  From there he went into the Air Force and retired at Vandenburg Air Force Base in 1975.  He was also with Red Horse – Prime Beef while at Hickam Air Force Base.

James was stationed at Alaska, Morocco, and Viet Nam.  His family was with him in California, Germany, Hawaii, and Texas.  Some other countries and states Jim and wife Jean enjoyed living in and traveling to; Canada, England, France, Japan, Russa, Wyoming, Washington State and Washing D.C.

He was a Life Member of Lompoc Elks Lodge 2274, Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 1036, Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion.

Some of his hobbies were deep sea fishing, surf casting, hooked rugs, volleyball, stained glass and camping with wife Jean and family and their Boston Terriers.

James was preceded in death by his wife Ada Jean (Doornbos) O'Guin, his mother, Lillie R. Jones, his father Charles E. O'Guin, his brothers Charles E. O'Guin and Gary O'Guin, his sisters Dorthey J. (O'Guin) La Rossa and Sharon R. (Cole) McCreary, and son-in-Law Lawrence Kanui Moiha.  He is survived by his daughters Joyce F. (O'Guin) Moiha and Jill A. O'Guin, his son James N. O'Guin, a grandson and his wife Lawrence James Kanui and Momi (Kalulu) Moiha, grandson Justin Kama Moiha, six great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

The graveside funeral service will be held at Lompoc Cemetery on Saturday, December 4, 2021, at 10:30am.

A celebration of lives will be held at Lompoc Elks Lodge for James F. O'Guin and his Son-in-law Lawrence K. Moiha.
