At only 26 years old, James Pulliam lived a life that honored God and country. We will miss him dearly and are looking forward to our reunion at the tree of life when we get to Heaven.
James, who was born on February 23, 1986, was always a daredevil. It began with bikes, roller coasters, and culminated with a tour in the military jumping out of perfectly-good airplanes. His military career included duty stations in Georgia and with the 623rd QM Unit at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, 11 jumps, and many lifelong friends.
James was serving his second enlistment in the US Army when he was diagnosed with Huntington's Disease. A few short months later he came home to spend time with his family. We are thankful for the time we shared with him these last few years. He was the happiest, friendliest person despite all the obstacles in his life.
James enjoyed football and was a diehard New Orleans Saints fan. He spent a lot of his recent time caring for his sister and niece after school. He loved attending church, trying to never miss any services. His faith gave him the strength and courage to face his illness while keeping his love for life. His favorite thing in the world was ice cream, and he certainly indulged as much as possible.
His life with us was way too short as he was reunited with his brother Anthony in Heaven on September 26, 2012.
James leaves behind many people who love him including his parents Cathy and Todd Dale of Buellton, sisters Lori Pulliam and Taylor Dale, niece Cadence Pulliam and his maternal grandmother Lena Mendes.
The funeral service will be held at 2 pm on Friday, October 5, 2012, at Lompoc Valley Baptist Church, 700 East College Avenue followed by interment in the Lompoc Evergreen Cemetery. The arrangements are under the direction of Starbuck-Lind Mortuary.
