James "Jim" V. Snowling
February 7, 1958 – March 1, 2017
Jim passed away spending the day with many of his loving family members by his side. After battling a long Illness, he is now pain free and at peace. Jim was a loving husband, father, son, brother, uncle, in-law and Friend.
He was born in Quincy, Massachusetts to George L. and Melba "Ruth" Snowling.
He often talked about his growing up in Quincy and his many fond memories. The family later moved to Goleta in 1973, where Jim attended Dos Pueblo's High school. He went into the Army in May of 1976 and was stationed in Germany for the most of his enlistment time. He returned to Goleta in April of 1979.
In July of 1979, Jim met Anita and they were married in 1984. They have been together ever since. Family was very important to Jim. He was a proud father to his sons James and Tommy. They Moved to Lompoc in 1987. He loved coaching and refereeing their hockey games, teaching them his Love for sports and sharing his knowledge of the automotive business. Jim worked in the automotive parts field throughout Santa Barbara and then went to South Coast Motor Truck in Goleta. After they closed he decided to open his own business, Jim's Truck Parts. He ran it from 1998 to 2003. If you needed a part that no one could find you called Jim. He loved dealing with people and having a good laugh. He would light up a room with his sparkling blue eyes and smile. He loved to laugh and would always have a joke for you to hear. He will forever be in our hearts and thoughts!
He is survived by his wife Anita Snowling; sons James V. Snowling Jr. and Thomas "Tommy" J. Snowling; father George L Snowling; sister: Diane Bouchie; brothers William (Lotta) Snowling, Michael Snowling, John (Marie) Snowling; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and loving in-laws.
He was preceded in death by his mother Melba "Ruth" Snowling; sisters Teresa VanSon and Gail Montagna; and his brother Steven Snowling.
The memorial service will be held Saturday, March 25, 2017, at 12 noon at Starbuck Lind Mortuary in Lompoc.
