James (Jim) Patrick Torres (1955-2018) passed away unexpectedly at home on November 9 ^th at the age of 63.

He was born on January 7 ^th , 1955 in Lompoc, CA to Theodore (Teddy) Jaramillo Torres and Betty Jean Torrez.

Jim lived and worked all his life in Lompoc with a very large extended family and friends.  He started working at Johns Manville (Imerys Minerals) in 1974 and worked there for 44 years as a heavy equipment operator.  Jim had just entered retirement before he had passed away.

Jim was an outdoorsman who loved to shoot his guns and gunsmithing/reloading with his father Teddy.  He was an avid sportsman that loved competing in all sports.  Jim also enjoyed coaching youth sports and coached his children in recreational basketball and baseball leagues.  He was a diehard Minnesota Vikings, Los Angeles Lakers, and San Francisco Giants fan with his favorite players being Fran Tarkenton, James Worthy, and Willie Mays.

Jim was extremely proud of his children and had a deep love for them.  He spent many holidays and special events with his dear and close friends, Chuck and Wendy Cios.  Jim was a doting uncle to his niece Macy King and nephew Danny Torres Jr. and their families.

Jim is preceded in death by his parents, Teddy and Florence Torres; brother, Teddy Torres Jr.; and great niece, Lillian Torres.

He is survived by his son, Paul (Jaime) Torres; daughter, Brittany Torres; granddaughters; Olivia and Mia Torres; stepson, Tim Humphrey (Rocio); stepdaughter, Tammy Humphrey; sister, Gloria Ech; sister, Barbara Goddard; stepsister, Sherri Vest; stepsister Marylou O'Loughlin; brother, Daniel Torres Sr.; and stepbrother, Jason Grimmer.

He leaves behind numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
