James T. Twine-husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and veteran-died on Wednesday, December 3, 2014 in Santa Barbara, CA. He was 92.
James was born in Tyner, NC on August 17, 1922, to James and Annie Twine. He married his wife, Dorothy Twine, at Langley AFB, VA on November 23, 1947. When James was 17 years old, he joined the Civilian Conservation Corps before joining the Army Air Corps. He spent 30 years in the Air Force, and retired in 1967 at Vandenberg AFB, CA. After retiring from the Air Force, he drove a school bus for the Lompoc Unified School District for 18 years.
James is survived by his wife, Dorothy, his sons, James, David, Clifton, and Russell, his daughters, Betty, Patty, and Peggy, and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 10, at the Lompoc Cemetery. A reception will follow at 12:00 at the HERITAGE VILLAS large clubhouse at 300 Burton Mesa Blvd, Vandenburg Village, (Lompoc)
