Our beloved mother, Janet Sharp Ur, passed away on Monday the 18th of January 2010 at the age of seventy-six. Jan was born in England at Stratford-on-Avon. She married Wilbur Steve Ur and they moved to the United States in 1954. Jan was busy as a homemaker and mother of five children. She loved horses and was active for many years with her daughters riding and showing in Hunter-Jumping. Later on she worked in the Santa Ynez Valley hotel industry for twenty years.

Jan was preceded in death by her husband Wilbur Steve Ur, her parents Arthur and Ethyl Sharp, her brother Barry Sharp, and her daughter Beverly Ur Pfeiffer. She will be deeply missed by all who had the fortunate blessing of crossing paths with her including her surviving family members: her brother Brian (Diane) Sharp of New Zealand; her four children, daughter Jennifer (Floyd) Picquette of Fresno, her son Wilbur (Susan) Ur of Lompoc, her daughter Suzannah Ur (Kevin Pampena) of Lompoc, and her son Alexander Brian Ur of Lompoc; and her four grandchildren, Jacob Hall, Ian Ur, Rebecca Ur, and Sarah Ur.

Jan will be remembered for her love of life and her hope for all things dreamable at a private service pending for family and close friends at the Lompoc Cemetery. Donations can be made to the charity of your choice in lieu of flowers.
