Jean L. (Waters) Robertson, 84 of Lompoc, California, passed away peacefully on December 26, 2017. A celebration of her life will be held at Trinity Church of the Nazarene, 500 East North Avenue in Lompoc on Friday, January 5, 2018 at 11:00 A.M.
Jean was born to Irene and George Waters in Denver, Colorado. She graduated from South High School where she played the violin in the orchestra. She married James Robertson, the love of her life. Together they had four children, raising them during Jim's career in the Air Force. After Jim's retirement from the military, they settled in Lompoc. Some of her favorite jobs that she held over the years were as a bookkeeper at C & P Bookkeeping and a volunteer preparing taxes for seniors. Genealogy was a passion to Jean. She was a 40-year charter member of the Rancho Purisima Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, serving as their secretary for many of those years, a charter member of the local chapter of Colonial Dames, a member of the Mayflower Society of Santa Barbara, and the Lady's Oriental Shrine volunteering in the children's burn unit.
Jean is survived by her two sisters, Frances Cary and Joanne Martin of Denver, Colorado, her children, Kathy Johnson and her husband Del, Jamie Souza and her husband John all from Falmouth, Massachusetts, James Robertson and his wife Ann from Redlands, and Bill Robertson and his wife Sandy from Lompoc, eight grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren.
Her family will always lovingly remember their mother and grandmother as a strong, intelligent, independent, and classy lady with a wonderful sense of humor. She was an avid reader, loved tacos, chocolate, and romantic movies.
