1922-2008
Jeanne Catherine Armstrong, age 85, passed away on Wednesday, April 23, 2008 at her home in Lompoc.
Jeanne was born September 13, 1922 to Raymond and Nellie Finucan in Cleveland, Ohio. After graduating high school, Jeanne supported the war effort as a "Rosie the Riveter." She then worked as a legal secretary, and later, as a real estate agent for many years. She came to Lompoc in 2004 from San Clemente. She loved to work in the garden and was a member of the Central Coast Orchid Society. She was also a member of P. E. O. and attended First Presbyterian Church of Lompoc.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, James and Sally Bass of Lompoc, son Jonathan Burkett of Long Beach, and brother James Finucan of Toledo, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her husbands, James Milton Bass, III, Frederick Burkett, and Douglas P. Armstrong. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Nellie Finucan, as well as her brother Raymond Finucan.
A memorial service will take place on Monday, April 28, 2008 at 2:30 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church of Lompoc with Rev. Julia Leeth officiating. Graveside services are private.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Starbuck-Lind Mortuary.
