Jeanne Reed of Lompoc passed away Wednesday, September 27, 2006 at the age of 73 years. The graveside funeral service will be Monday, October 2, at 11:00 a.m. in the Lompoc Evergreen Cemetery.

Jeanne was born July 21, 1933 to Olie and Lena Eubanks in Wichita, Kansas. She came to California in 1960 and first lived in Santa Maria. After her marriage to Horace Reed in 1963 she became a resident of Lompoc.

A lifelong homemaker, Jeanne loved cooking and canning. She was active on the family farm with the raising of goats and pigs. She was a founding member of the Robert Young Iris Society and a member of the Santa Barbara Dairy Goat Association.

Jeanne is survived by her husband of 43 years, Horace Reed of Lompoc; sons, Brian and Bruce Reed of Lompoc; niece, Sheryl Bryant and her son Christopher of Everett, Washington; and niece, Lisa Tricky of Wichita, Kansas.
