Jerrold Leon La Chance, passed away at his home in Lompoc California on November 16 after a heroic fight with cancer. He was 86.
Jerrold proudly served in the US Air Force for 27 years, retiring as a chief master sergeant. A few of the positions he held while in the military were as a technician on the Bombing-Navigational system for the B-47 bomber, Atlas missile launch facility maintenance supervisor and superintendent of the quality control program. After his retirement from the Air Force he spent the next 18 years working for Santa Barbara County as a Corrections Officer, Deputy Marshal then Deputy Sheriff.
He had many interests that included reading, oil painting, creating stained glass art, and building model ships.
He is preceded in death by his wife Virlyn and son Gregory. He is survived by his daughters Kara, Krista, Lisa and Michelle; his son David; grandchildren Trevor and Brandon Coyle; Caitlin, Clay Jr., and Melissa Woolfork; Rhianna, Jocelyn and Zain La Chance; great grandson Caiden La Chance; sister Iris Davis and brother Keith La Chance.
A service will be held at the Lompoc cemetery on Saturday, 26 November at 9:00 a.m.
