A homecoming! On February 15, 2015, Jesus Delgado began his journey home to be with his Heavenly Father. He was born March 13, 1931, in Hillsboro, Texas, to Rafael and Soledad Delgado who proceeded him in death. Jesus lived his formative years in Ario De Rayon, Michoacán, Mexico.
At the age of 24 Jesus realized his heart belonged to his beloved Consuelo Santos. They embarked upon a journey together that would span 59 years of love, devotion, and family unity. Jesus' pride and joy were his children, Rosa Lopez of Rogers, Arkansas, Jesus Delgado of Lompoc, California, Rafael (Claudia) Delgado of Lompoc, Alejandro Delgado of Lompoc, and Angelina (Myron) Hamm of Las Vegas, Nevada. Like any great father, Jesus loved his nine grandchildren and his ten great grandchildren with pride.
Jesus was proceeded in death by his sister Dolores Delgado.
There are many that are deeply saddened by the passing of this wonderful man, but the lives he touched and the joy he brought to so many with his generosity and kindness will live on forever through those that loved and cherished him. We celebrate Jesus being with his father and find comfort in knowing that an Angel will watch over us all until that glorious day when we will all celebrate with him in the kingdom of heaven.
The visitation will be Wednesday, February 18, from 4 to 7 pm at Starbuck-Lind Mortuary, with the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 6 pm. Father Tom Cook will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, February 19, at 10 am at La Purisima Catholic Church in Lompoc. Interment will follow in the Lompoc Evergreen Cemetery.
