Jesus "Chuy" Lopez Ochoa, passed peacefully on Sept. 6, 2018 at the age of 77, with his loving family at his side. Chuy was born to Rafael Jesus Ochoa and Carmen Lopez Ochoa on October 10, 1940 in Michoacan, Mexico. He was the first child of ten.

Chuy will be most remembered for his laugh, his love of family, he loved being around his nieces and nephews and loved to dance.

Jesus was preceded in death by his father, Rafael Jesus Ochoa, who passed away in 1985, and by his bothers Roberto "Bobby" Ochoa, Daniel "Danny" Ochoa and Antonio "Tony" Ochoa. He is survived by his brothers Jose "Joe" Ochoa, Ramon "Ray" Ochoa, Enrique "Henry" Ochoa, all of Lompoc; his sisters Maria Elena "Helen" Swartwout of Portland, Oregon, Carmen Albarran of Lompoc and Margarita "Margie" Ochoa of Fillmore. Chuy has numerous nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, and extended family.

A viewing will take place on Wednesday, Sept. 12th from 4:00-8:00 pm with a vigil service at 7 pm, at the Starbuck-Lind Mortuary Chapel. A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, Sept 13th at 1 pm at La Purisima Catholic Church, a reception to follow, further details to be announced at the service.
