Vigil services for Lompoc native Jimmy Hernandez, 65, will be 5 p.m. Tuesday, November 30, 2010 at the chapel of Starbuck-Lind Mortuary. A funeral mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Wednesday at Queen of Angels Catholic Church with Rev. Msgr. John Fitzgerald presiding. Burial will follow at Lompoc Evergreen Cemetery.
Jimmy was born October 30, 1945 to Meryildo and Louise Hernandez. He attended local schools and Bishop Garcia Diego High in Santa Barbara before graduating from Lompoc High. He earned an Associate in Arts degree from Alan Hancock College.
Before his retirement, Jimmy worked as a computer technician with a telephone service provider in Southern California for over 25. He has resided in Torrance, California for the last 25 years.
He died Wednesday, November 24, 2010 at his home.
Survivors include his brother Jack Hernandez of Torrance; sister, Rosemarie Hernandez Machuca of Colorado Springs, Colorado; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Visitation hours will be 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the mortuary.
