IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Joan Elaine
Ingram Long
March 29, 1934 – August 29, 2022
Joan Elaine Ingram Long born March 29, 1934, in Torrance, California to Edward and Corabell Ingram, Joan departed this earthly life the morning of Monday, August 29, 2022, in Cottonwood, Arizona surrounded by her loving family.
Joan was the eldest of two children. Joan moved to the Lompoc Valley with her family in the early 50's when her father was hired to manage the Grefco Filtration Plant. Joan was very proud of her father and the park that was dedicated in his honor. She later met the love of her life, Jerry Long, at Grefco and was his loving wife for 37 years until his passing in 1991. She was the mother to three active boys who kept her very busy during their upbringing with their various sports events, mainly baseball. Those boys grew up to have families totaling nine grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren. Joan's biggest joy was being around her family. She loved collecting antiques, shopping, traveling, and watching classic movies. Although she had three boys, she loved being girly, spending time with her female friends, getting dressed up for any occasion, and being pampered.
In addition to her parents, Joan was preceded in death by her sibling Judith Shorey, husband Jerry Long, son Roy Long and uncle Robert Adams. Joan is survived by her two sons Stephen (Karen) Long, and Gregory (Mary) Long; grandchildren Julie (Stephen) Laws, and Farin (Christopher) Gray; great-grandchildren Matthew Laws, Felicity Gray, and Trevor Gray.
Services will be held at the Lompoc Cemetery Pavilion at 10:30 am on September 19, 2022.
