Joe Willie Graydon of Lompoc passed away Sunday, July 29, 2007 at the age of 75.
Joe was born in Wabbaseka, Arkansas on December 14, 1931 to Eugene and Eddy Bea Graydon. He was raised by his step-mother Pearline Graydon and his aunt Ossiemae Lewis in Arkansas. He came to California in 1957 and was employed by the University of California Santa Barbara. At the time of his retirement he was the maintenance supervisor for the campus. He moved to Lompoc in 1987 where he enjoyed gardening, playing dominos and fishing.
Joe is survived by his wife of 32 years, Mary Graydon of Lompoc; daughters, Deborah Graydon and Alice Guidry, both of Lompoc; sons, Marion Graydon of Texas, Tyrone Graydon of Ventura, and Daniel Graydon of Virginia; sisters, Carri Stears and Willie Mae Culclager, both of Arkansas; brothers, James and John Graydon, both of Arkansas; eight grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Cremation will be followed by private interment. Memorial donations may be made to the Sickle Cell Disease Foundation of California, 6133 Bristol Parkway, Suite 240, Culver City, CA 90230.
