John "Jack" Webb, 68, of Lompoc was born September 25, 1942 in Omaha, Nebraska to Jack E. and Margaret L. (Pearson) Webb. He went home to be with the
Lord on Tuesday, November 30, 2010 after a courageous battle with cancer. He died peacefully at Lompoc Valley Medical Center with family at his side.
After graduating from High School in Santa Barbara in 1960, Jack served in the U.S. Navy. Upon discharge, he returned to Santa Barbara where he obtained a
degree from Santa Barbara City College, worked in construction, and got his license in real estate and appraisal. In 1973, Jack married Janice E. Bottroff and shortly thereafter they moved to Lompoc where they joined the family business of Lompoc Lumber Co. Later on, Jack went into partnership to create Classic Installation, which is
currently in operation. Over the course of his career, Jack displayed his talents in architecture and interior design.
Aside from his professional career, Jack was deeply involved in the Lompoc community. He was an Elk's member, volunteered for CASA, Habit for Humanity, and coached for Lompoc Girl's Softball Association.
Jack was a devout Christian and an active member of Trinity Church of the Nazarene, where he spent many years serving as an usher and cooking food every
Sunday for the Food Ministry.
Jack will be remembered most for his love of cooking, hunting at Tule Lake, and running marathons with the Sweeney Buzzards. His battle with cancer did not
interfere with his passion for life and love for his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Judith (Webb) Hargrove. He is survived by his loving wife Jan Webb, son Aaron (Emily) Webb, of Ft.
Collins, CO, daughters Alison (Jason) Medan, of San Diego, and Abby (Nolan) Leavens, of Shell Beach, granddaughters Gavyn, Tyler, and Rylie Leavens,
grandsons Zane, and Cadel Webb.
A memorial service will be held at Trinity Church of the Nazarene, Saturday, December 4, 2010 at 1pm. A private family burial will be held at Lompoc
Evergreen Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Trinity Church Food Ministry, 500 East North Ave, Lompoc or Relay for Life, 1551 East Laurel
