John Garcia Flores Jr., age 48, died at his home in Lompoc, California on Friday, October 25, 2013.
Born May 16, 1965, to John Flores Sr. and Wynonna "Sue" (Howell) Flores of Lompoc, he resided in Lompoc for his entire life. John Flores Jr. was a long time, dedicated employee of Lompoc Van & Storage, working for the company since 1981.
He enjoyed fishing, bowling, camping, and barbequing. He was a skilled woodworker and craftsman. An aspiring chef with a passion for food, his cooking was unsurpassed bringing family and friends together.
His family wrote: "Uncle John was the most generous, kind hearted person and he would do anything for his family. He loved his nieces and nephews as if they were his own children. He lived a life of love and laughter. His joyful presence will be missed, but never forgotten."
Survivors include his father, John Flores Sr. of Lompoc, grandmother, Juanita (Ferrel) Flores, of Lompoc, sister and brother-in-law, Rollie and Vicki (Flores) Garife of Lompoc, sister and brother-in-law, Randy and Brenda (Flores) Nogle of Lompoc, nieces and nephews, A.J. Grossi, Jared Garife, Kristen (Garife) Foster, Jarad Nogle, Caysi Garife, Ryan Nogle, and Mckenna (Garife) Martin. He is also survived by his grand nieces and nephews, Alyssa, Morgan, Anthony, Leah, and Freddy.
A reception will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, November 16, at the Schuyler River Bottom Ranch, 1330 Barton Avenue, Lompoc, California. Relatives and friends are welcome to attend. Family is asking everyone to bring a dish, a joke, and a story to share in celebration of his life. Burial will be held in private.
