John J. Fuchala passed away on Monday, March 22, 2010 at his home in Lompoc. He was born on January 10, 1926 in New York, N. Y. to George and Julia Fuchala. He was a devoted husband, father, employee and military veteran, serving in Korea and Vietnam. John served his country for over 20 years in the United States Marine Corps and the U. S. Air Force
John was a devoted husband being married 50 years to his wife Teresa. He was a devoted father, providing a good home for his son along with wise advice and guidance.
John was a college graduate and a devoted employee to ITT where he worked for over 25 years. He also was an avid sports fan of baseball and football.
He is survived by his son George M. (Roxana) Fuchala of San Clemente, California, three sisters, Mary Schmidt of Tamarac, Florida, Maggie Shoff, and Julie Ferrera, both of Portage, Pennsylvania., a brother, Ed Fuchala of Cleveland, Ohio as well as numerous nieces and nephews. John was preceded in death by his parents, George and Julia Fuchala, his wife Teresa in 2008.
John had a colorful personality and was helpful and caring of others. He will be remembered with respect and love.
A visitation will be Monday March 29, 2010 from 4 to 6 P.M. at the Starbuck –Lind Mortuary, Lompoc. A Graveside service will be Tuesday March 30, 2010 at 11:00am at Lompoc Evergreen Cemetery. Friends who desire may donate to the Disabled American Veterans or the charity of your choice.
