Obituary

John was born July 16, 1937 in Scranton, Pennsylvania, and had a wonderful childhood doing many of the things that boys love to do, including hunting, riding bikes and spending time with friends. After graduation from high school, John joined the Navy and served for four years aboard ship. After his years in the Navy, he was employed by RCA for ten years on the Eastern Test Range, working on Grand Turk and San Salvador Islands and then in South Africa. After a tour through Europe, John returned to the United States and was hired by ITT where he worked in Engineering for 21 years, primarily on radar and optical systems.

While working for ITT, John met and married his wife Joanne. They liked to take trips as well as spend time planting trees and flowers at their home. John also loved active sports such as tennis, water and snow skiing and taking walks, as well as driving fast cars and motorcycles.

John passed away on Thursday July 18, 2013.

John is survived by his wife Joanne Karbin, his mother Mattie Karbin, his sister and brother-in-law Donna and Joe Holub, niece Kathryn Waters, nephew Joseph Holub, stepsons Steven and Sean Burch, step grandson Cody Burch, four great-nieces and one great-nephew.
