John Leslie Page (Jack) passed away July 25, 2025, at the Lompoc Hospital at the age of 82. He was a resident of Lompoc, California, for 56 Years.
He was born in South Dakota in 1942. The third of five children born to Adelia Page and John A. Page. The family moved to Tulelake, California, when he was about five years old, until his Senior year in high school, when the family moved to the Santa Ynez Valley to work on a duck hunting club. His family also lived in Moorpark, California, for a short time while working with the duck club, and he is a graduate of Santa Ynez High School.
He was drafted into the United States Army during the Vietnam era. Due to a family hardship, he was honorably discharged and sent home to take care of his family. After moving to Lompoc, he got a job at the diatomaceous earth processing plant, Grefco, and worked there for 32 years as a Lead-man in the warehouse and also served as the union president for the United Steelworkers union for many years. After Grefco closed, he went to work as a security officer for Wells Fargo Security on Vandenberg Air Force Base and for Allied Security at Gore Inc. in Lompoc, which then became Raytheon. He worked full-time until he was 80 years old.
He married his first wife, Linda Mattson, from Santa Ynez, California, in 1968 and had two children, Stephen and Tina. He later remarried his second wife, Theresa Francis, and had 20 years together with her when she passed away from cancer in 2006. Two-step children joined the family: Mary and John. He is lovingly remembered by many Grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He loved fishing, was a serious coin collector, loved God and his Country, and was a long-time member of the American Legion Post 211 in Lompoc. He was also a member and served in many positions for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Love you, Dad!
