Obituary
John C. Peterson of Lompoc died unexpectedly at home on Tuesday, July 21, 2009, at the age of 48.
John was born in Iowa on April 15, 1961, graduating from East High School in Des Moines, Iowa in 1979.
A resident of Lompoc since 1999, John was an equipment operator at Baroda Farms and worked many years on the oil refineries off the coast of California and Washington states.
John is survived by his wife of 10 years Sandra Peterson of Lompoc; his mother Margaret Peterson of Des Moines; brother Greg (Patty) Peterson of Minneapolis, Minnesota; sister Jane (Bob) Keller of Mitchelville, Iowa; daughter LaRissa (Perry) Harrell and her daughters Madison Rasmussen and Peighton Harrell of Des Moines, son John Peterson, Jr. of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; son Shane Peterson of Des Moines; step-sons Joshua and Jake (Nikki) DeGard of Des Moines, step-grandchildren, Hunter and Nevaeh DeGard.
His father Gene Peterson recently preceded John in death.
There will be a celebration of John's life later this month.
Memorial contributions may be made to a favorite charity.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Starbuck-Lind Mortuary.
