The life of John P. Saunders Jr. as seen thru the eyes of his children.
He was the older of two children from Helen Witham and John P. Saunders of Somerville, Massachusetts. He grew up in the New England area but landed in Bridgton, Maine and met Wendy J. Lawrence (preceded by, Pooh) to whom he was married to for 55 plus years. They traveled to numerous United States locations, for the 26 years in the United States Air Force, which landed here at Vandenberg AFB, where they retired in Lompoc, California. After retiring from the Air Force, he worked on the Space Shuttle programs for various contractors. Together they had four children, eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Throughout the years he coached women's softball, all youth sports, on Vandenberg AFB and the surrounding areas, bowled in various leagues. His enthusiasm for laughter, healthy competition and his love of telling his life story, which will be greatly missed. If words could describe him, it would be loyal, fun, giving unconditional love, also loved donuts, crossword puzzles, music, sports, crazy clothes and the casino. We will greatly miss you our bionic dad.
