Services for John Gaitan, Sr., 50, of Lompoc, will be at noon on Monday, March 24, 2008 at the chapel of Starbuck-Lind Mortuary. Burial will follow at Lompoc Evergreen Cemetery
A native of Lompoc, John was born April 14, 1957 to Paul and Lupe Bell Gaitan. He most recently worked as an electrician in commercial and residential construction. John loved playing guitar and played in the band "Hard Times." He was affectionately know as "Pop" by his grandkids, and enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
He died Wednesday, March 19, 2008 at Cottage Hospital in Santa Barbara.
Survivors include his sons, John Gaitan, Jr. and Michael Paul Gaitan, both of Lompoc; daughter, Trina Maria Gaitan of Lompoc; sisters, Dolores Hernandez of Santa Maria and Gloria Gaitan-Terrones of Lompoc; brothers, David, Robert, Larry and Eddie Gaitan, all of Lompoc, and Danny Gaitan of Carlsbad, Calif; grandchildren, Larissa and John Gaitan, III and Isaac Velez; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Paul and Raul Gaitan.
Visitation hours will Monday at 10 a.m. until service time at the mortuary.
