Jon Mitchell of Lompoc, California passed away peacefully in his home on August 31, 2022, at the accomplished age of 88. A man of great humility and calmness, his gentle, quiet nature will be missed by those who knew him. Jon led a full life as a talented UCLA and Olympic Trials athlete, a contributor to the Lompoc community as a licensed clinical social worker, and a pole vault coach to his sons and other athletes at Lompoc High School.  He was a loving husband to his wife Roberta, caring father to children Maria (Jim), David, Brennan (Karin) and Tim (Susan) and grandfather to Rick, Rudy, Constantine, Tabitha, Grant and Hallie. No service is planned at this time.
