Bedolla, Jose Alfredo
Jan. 9, 1932 – Aug. 2, 2009
Jose was born in Guanajuato, Mexico, to parents Teresa Tenorio and Bernardo Bedolla. At a young age, he began his agricultural career laboring throughout California and Texas. Jose finally decided to reside in California and live in the county of Santa Barbara where he lived for 45 years. He first began working for the Sunkist Lemon Company in the city of Goleta. In a brief recess to his tenure there, he attended Santa Barbara City College, 1975 – 1977, completing an ESL program and general studies. In 1982, he began working as the Majordomo of The Montecito Avocado Ranch where he worked until his retirement in December 2004.
Grandpa will always be remembered as a strong, hardworking and completely trustworthy individual. He was dedicated to his work and was very generous to his family and friends. Grandpa will especially be remembered by his funny gestures, many "sayings" and teasing humor. The family is also particularly proud of him for receiving his US citizenship in 1995.
Jose is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Rafaela; 3 sons and 3 daughters: Fernando, Teresa, Alfredo, Maria, Lupe and Antonio; 4 brothers and 2 sisters: Maria, Miguel (RIP), Leonel, Juana, Rafael, Lorenzo, and Vicente; 14 grandchildren: Angelina Balderama, Angela Bedolla-Webber, Cecilia Bedolla, Michael A.
