Jose Antonio "Tony" Lopez was born on April 27, 1978 and passed away unexpectedly in Lompoc on October 27, 2012.
Tony was born to Juan and Rosa Lopez in La Piedad, Micoacan, Mexico. He was a month old when he came to Lompoc. He grew up in Lompoc and was well known in the community. Tony attended La Honda Elementary School, Vandenberg Middle School, Lompoc and Cabrillo High Schools. He later earned his GED.
Tony enjoyed riding his motorcycle, flying his model airplanes, taking his kids to the park, going on walks up to the Mission, and "chilling" at home watching movies with his wife and kids. He was machinist for ten years.
He is going to be missed by his family, friends, parents and wife, but above all his children. The last four months of his life he spent at home and developed a deep bond with his babies. His sons were his "best buddies" (as he called them) and his daughter was his "baby girl." Tony and Cynthia had an unconditional love for each other. She will miss riding with him on his motorcycle and getting big hugs.
Tony is survived by his wife of ten years, Cynthia, his children Cristina (age 6) and Adrian (age 21 months), son Cayden (age 13) of Texas, parents Juan and Rosa Lopez, and brother Juan, Jr. and his wife Alma, their children Briana, Anthony and Angel Lopez and brother Julian Lopez.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 7, 2012, from 5 to 8 pm with a vigil and rosary at 6 pm in the Chapel of Starbuck-Lind Mortuary. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Father Tom Cook at La Purisima Catholic Church on Thursday, November 8, 2012, at 10 am. Interment will follow the Mass at Lompoc Evergreen Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care of Starbuck-Lind Mortuary. www.starbucklind.com
