Jose Del Refugio Martinez of Lompoc died Sunday, October 29, 2023, at the age of 71.

Jose was born to Lorenzo and Maria Martinez on January 9, 1952, in Aguascalientes, Mexico.  A resident of Lompoc since 1979, Jose was employed for more than 30 years as a machine operator.  He enjoyed watching and attending Major League Baseball games and spending time with his family.

Jose is survived by his wife Maria Martinez, daughters Maria (Alan) Martinez-Greenawalt, Alma (Juan) Lopez, Nancy (Aisa) Martinez; sons Rodolfo Martinez, Lorenzo (Angie) Martinez, and Eric Martinez.  He is also survived by his 11 grandchildren Briana Lopez, Anthony Lopez, Angel Lopez and Daniel Lopez, Lorenzo Martinez, Jr., Isabella Martinez, Gabriella Martinez, Daniella Martinez, Arianna Greenawalt, Aiden Greenawalt, and Zoey Martinez.  He was preceded in death by his son Juan Manuel Martinez.

The visitation will be Monday, November 6, from 4-7pm in the Starbuck-Lind Mortuary Chapel, with the recitation of the Rosary at 6pm.  The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, November 7 at 10am La Purisima Catholic Church followed by burial in the Lompoc Evergreen Cemetery.
