After a long battle with illness, our beloved father, grandfather, great grandfather and cherished husband, Jose Ruiz Cendejas went to be with our Lord on Saturday, December 8, 2018.  He is survived by his wife, Maria Elena Ruiz, children and their spouses; Raul Lujano (Nuria), John Lujano (Raquel), Maribel Ortiz (Larry), and Alberto Ruiz.  He is preceded in death by his parents, Antonia Cendejas and Ruben Ruiz.  He will be dearly missed by his grandchildren, JC Laurel, Juanita Lujano, Breana Lujano, Eli Ortiz, Larry Louie Ortiz, Joseph Ortiz, Jose Antonio Lujano, Nico Ortiz, Victor Ortiz, and Sandra Lujano.  His legacy will continue on through his great grandchildren, Bella, Miles, David, and Easton.  Jose will remain in the hearts of his siblings, Pedro, Antonio, Marcelino, Miguel, Ruben, Juanita, Maximiana, MariaElena, and Dolores. Jose immigrated to California from his native town, Purepero, Michoacan over 45 years ago.  In his travels, he honed his landscaping techniques earning his employment at Sycamore Valley Ranch in the Santa Ynez Valley and having remained there through the transition into Neverland Valley Ranch where he took pride in his work until it's closing in 2009.  Dad, rest assured that we will take care of your viejita linda, Maria Elena, as you did for almost 50 years. You gave us a home, you provided us guidance and most importantly, your unselfish love.  We know that you are now in a good place reunited once again with your loved ones. We love you "pops" and we will all see you again.  But in the meantime, "I labio, I nariz, y I oreja."

A viewing will be held at Starbuck-Lind Mortuary on December 13, 2018 from 5-8pm, Rosary at 6pm.  A Funeral Mass will be held at La Purisima Catholic Church on December 14, 2018 at 9am followed by burial in the Lompoc Evergreen Cemetery.
