Joseph Gregory Moore passed away at the age of 81 on November 23, 2007, at his home in Lompoc.
Joseph was born in Newfoundland, Canada, on September 14, 1926, the son of Mark and Ethel Byrne Moore. He was raised and educated in Boston, Massachusetts.
Joseph served in the United States Navy for four years during World War II. He also served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. Formerly of Rome, New York, he came to Lompoc in 1976 and spent 10 years as a missile system analyst at Vandenberg Air Force Base.
Joseph's hobbies included bowling, poker, and fixing televisions.
Joseph is survived by his daughter and her husband, Mary and Don Whithead, of Cheyenne, Wyoming, son and his wife, Gregory and Cynthia Moore, of Santa Maria, and his sons, Steven and Christopher Moore, of Lompoc; grandchildren Michelle, Michael, Matthew, Megan, and Aubrey, great grandchildren, Zachary, Paul, Evelyn, and Emlie; and his brother Vincent Moore of Arizona. His wife Marion preceded him in death in 1995.
