Joseph M. Villa, 59, of Lompoc passed away suddenly on Saturday, September 24, 2011. Joe was born on March 19, 1952 to Paul and Frances Villa. Joe was raised and educated in the Carpinteria area, graduating from Carpinteria High School.
Joe worked at various places in the Santa Barbara area; Santa Barbara Optic and Infrared Industries, Home Improvement Center, Santa Barbara School District, and more recently at Cottage Hospital, where he worked in patient care. He attended St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Carpinteria and he was very devoted to his faith. His favorite pastimes included; barbecuing, fishing, watching TV, listening to Oldies and spending time with friends and grandchildren.
Preceding Joseph in death was his parents, his brothers, Paul Villa, Jr. and Albert Villa Sr., and his first wife, Louisa Garcia Villa. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Debra L. Villa, his children; Joseph "JoJo" Villa, Elissa Villa and Sarah Villa, and grandchildren; Diva Villa, Felisha Villa-Dominguez, Joseph Ellington-Villa, Angel Villa and Isaiah Villa-Slauterbeck, siblings; Peter S. Villa, Tom Villa, Maria Villa Fragoso and Rita Villa and numerous nieces and nephews.
A visitation is scheduled at Starbuck-Lind Mortuary in Lompoc, Wednesday, September 28, 2011 from 4 to 8pm, with a Rosary at 6pm at Starbuck-Lind Mortuary. A Funeral Mass starting at 11am on Friday, September 30, 2011 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Carpinteria, followed by internment in the Carpinteria Cemetery.
