Juan "Johnny" Abundio Contreras passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, August 26, 2012 after a difficult battle with cancer.

Johnny was born in Lordsburg, New Mexico and was a longtime resident of Lompoc, California. He was a Master Craftsman with a happy and faith-filled love for life.

He is survived by his wife Rachel, and two children, Johnny and Alicia. He is also a beloved brother to two sisters, Julie and Luz and a brother Jesse. He also has a wonderfully large number of nieces and nephews.

Those who were privileged to know him will remember him as a deeply committed Christian whose greatest desire was to see his friends and family come to Christ and embrace Him as their Lord and Savior.

Johnny had many friends who remember him as a generous, caring man who always did his best to express his love for them and help meet their needs. He will be greatly missed.

Services for Johnny will be held on Saturday, September 15, 2012 at First Southern Baptist Church at 1009 E. Pine Avenue in Lompoc, California at 1:00 pm. A reception will follow immediately in the Fellowship Hall of the church. All who knew Johnny are welcomed and encouraged to attend his memorial service.
