IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Juanita
Flagg
August 9, 1958 – June 23, 2024
I wasn't ready to say goodbye, but God needed me more.
While my body is gone, my spirit lives on in the people I loved the most.
GOD OPEN HIS ARMS AND SAID "TIME TO COME HOME MY CHILD"
Juanita Flagg Butt, passed away June 23, 2024, wrapped in God's arms. Juanita "Nita" was born August 9, 1958, in Brooklyn, New York. She was married to Thomas Butt, the love of her life for 24 years.
Juanita "My love, I will always love you. My heart is breaking without you. I know I must go on for us.... but Nita, I miss you so much.
She leaves behind three sons to walk in her shoes and live the life she always dreamed for them: Darnell, Raymond, and Samuel (Tank). Juanita was preceded in death by her "baby boy Eric "Money" Napper and her parents Maragret and William Flagg, and her two sisters, Maryann, and Naomi, and her friend, Jamie Rosauer.
She is survived by her sisters, Denise Anders, Joann Flagg, and Katherine Watts. Her sister and brother-in-law Teresa Butt, Cynthia and Joseph Jiles, nephews and nieces Alexander Avery, Jennifer Miller, Nathan Avery and Jessica Bandel, Jolissa Jiles, Ayana Jiles, Farran and Kim Tan, Jared Richards, and many nieces, nephews, grandkids, and cousins who she loved dearly. It was by the grace of God; she was able to visit them a couple of weeks before God called her home.
Juanita loved to cook, and mouths would water when she cooked her world-famous collard greens, with smoked neckbones. Her string beans with potatoes were so good, they make you want to slap yo mama! Juanita's absolute specialty was Philly Cheese Steaks. She had a very colorful wardrobe, as she loved to dress up no matter what the occasion was; a beauty queen on this Earth as she is now in heaven. Her favorite shows were like, The Young and the Restless, Bold and the Beautiful and of course "SISTA's". Family meant everything to Wanda, she had a tight knit bond with sisters, a bond that can never be broken. Nita was a gift sent from above. She was a wife, mother, sister, and grandmother. Her death came unexpectedly and was a shock to everyone who loved her.
Romans 8:38-39 "For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord" (Romans 8:38-39).
The battle is over we can have peace knowing she is no longer in pain and with her son and sisters in heaven.
My sister from another mister, you will truly be missed especially during our almost daily chats, and you will forever be in our hearts.
A viewing will be held on Wednesday, July 10, 2024, from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. at Starbuck-Lind Mortuary Chapel, 123 N. A St, Lompoc, CA 93436.
