Born to Charles Eldred Proctor Sr. and Virginia Louise Proctor on December 3, 1949, Judy was one of seven children raised in Ravenna, Ohio.
Loved ones who will forever cherish her memory include:
Her Fraternal Twin Sister and lifelong Daughter, Leigh Ann Johnson; Grandchildren, Nathalie Gatson, Nathaniel Gatson and Noeme Johnson; Great-granddaughters, Izari Kadence Vines, Fraternal twins Alayah Olivia, Maya Leigh Ann Gatson and Grandson Malakai David Gatson Herb and Jacqueline Thurman, Lisa Ramirez, Sidney Williamson, Christina, Michelle and Christopher Hamilton.
Welcoming her into Heaven are:
Her Sisters, Carol Thomas, Janet Williamson, and Jacqueline Proctor; her brothers, Charles Proctor Jr., and David Proctor; and the love of her life, Husband Melvin David Gatson.
Judy was a happy, funny, and sometimes delightfully goofy woman with a wonderful sense of humor. She was kind, loving, and deeply family-oriented—devoted to especially her sweet grandbabies. She shared a unique and unbreakable bond with her twin sister, Jule "Sissy," Hamilton and was married to Melvin for 47 beautiful years. Together they raised their loving and dedicated daughter, Leigh Ann, who was truly a gift from God and lovingly cared for them both in their later years.
A smart and determined business-woman, Judy excelled in Mary Kay for several years and worked for an extended period and retired from the California Gas Company.
In the last days of Judy's life, she unfortunately became increasingly ill, however with God's grace, she passed away peacefully into the arms of the Lord on 8-8-25 with her loving daughter Leigh Ann at her side.
Viewing will be on Friday at Starbuck Lind Mortuary 123 North A Street Lompoc, CA. 22nd 4 pm, until 7 pm for the public. Saturday 23rd at 2pm at Calvary Baptist Church 3355 Constellation Road, Lompoc CA 93436. Celebration of Life immediately following.
We all were fortunate to know Judy, and you undoubtedly have your own special story, a funny moment or memory of her making you laugh until you couldn't catch your breath. Her beautiful greenish-blue eyes brought light into the lives of so many. Her light will remain in our hearts and memories for years to come.
