Vigil services for Judith "Judy" Lara-Reitmeier, 51, of Lompoc, will be 7 p.m. Thursday, November 12, 2009 at the chapel of Starbuck-Lind Mortuary. A funeral mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Friday at Queen of Angels Catholic Church with Msgr. John Fitzgerald officiating. Burial will follow at Lompoc Evergreen Cemetery.

A native of Lompoc, Judith was born February 13, 1958 to Pilar and Esther Cruz Lara. She was raised and educated in Lompoc and graduated in 1976 from Lompoc High. She belonged to the American Legion Post 125 and 211, the VFW Club 1770, and the Moose Lodge 1036. Judy's favorite pastimes included camping, barbequing, fishing and spending time with her family.

She died Thursday, October 29, 2009 at her home.

Survivors (spouses) include her daughter, Esther Reitmeier and son, Ronnie Reitmeier both of Lompoc; brothers, Jacky Lara, Bobby Lara, Danny (Dena) Lara, P.J. (Maria) Lara, and Michael Lara all of Lompoc; sisters, Pauline (Teo) Cabrera of Goleta and numerous nieces and nephews. Her parents and sister Crystal Lara preceded her in death.

Visitation hours will be Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the mortuary.
