IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Julia Delores
Ortiz
March 5, 1933 – January 4, 2022
Julia Delores Ortiz was a wonderful caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She left this world on January 4, 2022, at age 88.
Julia was a Colorado girl, but it's in Wyoming that she met Paul Ortiz, the love of her life. They were married 67 years before his death April 22, 2016. During their marriage, they went forth to create a life well-lived. Julia was the quintessential homemaker. No matter where she and Paul moved, Julia made their house a home filled with children, great food, friends, and a lot of comfort.
Julia is survived by daughters Susan, Lucille (Robert), Sharon (Michael), and son Paul Jr. (Barbara); eight grandchildren, and thirteen great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers Ronnie and Joey, and sister Joann in Colorado.
Julia's house was always full of visitors. Family came from far and wide to gather and were treated to Julia's culinary fare, which was legendary. An energetic game of cards was mandatory, and many Aces were chased around the dining table. Family was the most important thing to Julia and she was fiercely loyal and protective of her clan. She kept us all together and to this day that unity still stands.
Julia was a dynamic woman with unrelenting energy and an endearing stubbornness. She taught us that if we were going to do something, then do it well and get it finished. She applied those same principles to her sports teams. If you knew Julia, you knew she loved sports. From her bowling team to her son's little league, she was present and involved. She was an avid Bronco fan and loved watching golf, and she expected everyone else to feel the same about her picks.
Julia was greatly loved and will be missed dearly, but we are so grateful for the time we had together. She leaves behind a legacy that is undeniable and what remains when all is said and done – is Love.
Due to current restrictions, a private family service will be held. A Celebration of Life will be planned for the future.
