Obituary

Memorial services for Julia R. Scott, 42, of Lompoc, will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, April 27, 2007 at the chapel of Starbuck-Lind Mortuary with Pastor Dean Monkemeier of Calvary Baptist Church officiating.


Julia was born October 4, 1964 in Fayetteville, North Carolina. She graduated from Cabrillo High School and attended Allan Hancock College where she studied vocational nursing. After becoming an LVN, she later earned her license as a registered nurse. She was employed for 23 years of her career at the Lompoc Hospital District and had worked for Dr. Robert J. Reiner for the past 20 years as the office and practice manager. Within the nursing profession, she was an active member of the Society of Urological Nurses of America, an active member of the American Urological Association Practice Manager's Network, and lead investigator in multiple urological clinical and drug trials that Dr. Reiner's office participated in.


Julia loved to read and shop with her daughters and was an avid softball player. She enjoyed traveling, and her favorite vacation destination was in Arizona on the Colorado River.


She died Saturday, April 21, 2007 at Marian Medical Center after a short battle with cancer.


Survivors include her loving husband of 21 years, Mark Scott of Lompoc; beloved children, Lisa, Lori and Brody; parents, Janie and James Herman of Lompoc; sister, Kay Pinnell, and mother-in-law, Ruth Scott.
