Our Heavenly Father called June home on August 25, 2015, three days after her 93rd birthday. June, the oldest of three sisters, was born in Los Angeles on August 22, 1922 to Alice B. Maxwell and Richard A. Wilder.
June fell in love with William J. Clements, a handsome and wonderful man she met at a USO dance. They married in Pennsylvania in 1944, and started their own family after WWII. Bill was a lifelong employee of Texaco, and June was a homemaker. They were blessed with three children, Janet, David and Alice, who they lovingly raised in the Baptist faith.
Her beloved Bill passed away far too soon and June, at fifty-six, returned to her home state. She bought a house, worked at Moore's Department Store, and made a new and fulfilling life in Lompoc.
June was an excellent seamstress and cook, who put her own spin on the preparation of tri-tip. She loved her family, reading, water aerobics, her cozy house, good movies, and PCPA performances, to which she introduced her granddaughters at an early age.
June was preceded in death by her cherished family members: husband William, son David, and daughter Janet.
June is survived and will be deeply missed by her daughter Alice (John) Dugas of Lompoc; grandchildren Lisa (Bruce) Cross of Glen Burnie, Maryland, Col. Ken (Jen) Burkman of Fort Knox, Kentucky, Kathryn (Bassel) Anber of San Jose, and Emma (Jen) Dugas of Berkeley; and her blessed great-grandchildren, Sylvia, Cora and Ben.
June's family extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff of the Lompoc Comprehensive Care Center for providing June with excellent and loving care in her final years, and to Dr. Gilbert Andersen and his staff for the many years of compassionate and expert medical care they provided to June.
