June L. McMillan, 88, formerly of Lompoc CA, went to be with our Heavenly Father on Thursday, March 10, 2011. She resided at Atterdag Village in Solvang CA.

She was born April 21, 1922 in Holyoke Colorado to Jesse W. and Hazel L. McBride. June lived in Lompoc for 42 years before moving to Solvang in 2009. She was devoted to her family as a wife, sister, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, great aunt, and great-great aunt.

June actively participated in various women's bible study groups throughout her life. She had a passion for square dancing and traveled throughout California to many events. Midway through her life, June developed a strong interest in genealogy. She spent many years researching the heritage of the McMillan and McBride families.

June is preceded in death by her husband George Harvey McMillan (1978), brother-in-law Leo Ayala, nephew Ron Ayala, and son-in-law John Ferguson. June is survived by her children Barbara (Larry) Kurz of Lompoc, Phyllis Ferguson of Lafayette Indiana, and Steve (Sherri) McMillan of Orcutt; grandchildren Randy Kurz, Debra June (Steve) Novella, Kevin Kurz, Marcy (Nate) Cecil, Michael (Jilian) Ferguson; seven great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm, Monday March 14, 2011 at the Starbuck-Lind Mortuary in Lompoc. Memorial donations can be made in special thanks of the loving caregivers at Atterdag Village and Marian Hospice (Santa Maria, CA).
