IN LOVING MEMORY OF
June Marie
Schwartz
January 7, 1923 – October 26, 2020
June Marie Fulks Schwartz passed away peacefully at home on October 26, 2020.
June was born on January 7, 1923, to John Sanders Fulks and Mathilda Felka Fulks.
June was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who brought joy to her family, her many friends, and the community, where she served as a volunteer for more than sixty years.
June adored her only child, her son Terry, and appreciated his wife, Sue, for her comfort and care of him. She loved her grandson Scott. And she was married for 50 years to her beloved husband, Joe, and only wished she had more time with him.
She also loved having house guests and particularly enjoyed the visits back and forth with her cousins and other relatives from the East Coast and elsewhere.
June was named Woman of the Year 1981, by the Lompoc Chamber of Commerce. She volunteered for the Red Cross for 60 years. In 2010, she received a Red Cross award for exceptional volunteer service and a state Senate proclamation for her work. She was on the board of the Lompoc Hospital Foundation and spent many years as a Lompoc Valley Medical Center Pink Lady. She volunteered at the hospital and at Lompoc Valley Medical Center's Comprehensive Care Center. The family has fond memories of June regularly buying flowers to take to the CCC, and distributing magazines to the patients. June volunteered with Alpha Club and enjoyed helping with the flower show that Alpha held during the Lompoc Flower Festival. She was hesitant to model in Alpha Club's fashion shows, but always was a good sport about doing it. She also volunteered with the Scholarship Committee. This is only a portion of her full life of volunteering.
June loved people, and people loved June. June's friend Sandy Hopkins told us, "June played bridge up until the week before she was hospitalized and attended a bible study. She was a busy lady."
We would like to thank Jerry Simpson for endlessly helping June and all of our family.
We would also like to thank Dee Olivera and her caregivers, and the Assisted hospice nurses for their outstanding care of June in her final days.
June's passing is a loss to her family, her many friends, and the community which she served so well. She is loved and remembered. There will be no services for June, and the burial will be private. Please remember and celebrate June in your own way.
