Obituary
Junette "Louise" Briggs, 52, of Santa Maria passed away on Tuesday, April 17, 2012.
Louise was born on June 1, 1959 in Huron, South Dakota to Aubrey "Jack" and Wilma Bailey. She was raised and educated in Lompoc, a graduate of Lompoc High School. Louise moved to the San Diego where she attend Point Loma Nazarene College and began her career as a secretary in civil services.
She returned to the Lompoc Valley and worked at Vandenberg Air Force Base, concluding her career as the secretary for the Wing Commander.
Louise loved animals and had many pets. She volunteered at the animal shelter and humane society. She enjoyed walking and participated in the Breast Cancer Walk. She and her husband, Terry enjoyed traveling and spent the last year making that a priority over work.
Louise is survived by her husband of 22 years, Terry Briggs of Santa Maria, mother, Wilma Steele of Lompoc, sisters; Larinda Connour of Colorado and Debbie Wilson of Lompoc. She was preceded in death by her father and brothers, Ricky and Jerry Bailey.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, April 23, 2012 at 3pm at the Base Chapel on Vandenberg Air Force Base. Arrangements are in the care of Starbuck-Lind Mortuary. www.starbucklind.com
