Karl William Perkins, 81, of Lompoc passed away on Saturday, March 27, 2010 at the Comprehensive Care Center. Karl was born on October 9, 1928 to Francis and Pauline Perkins in Piper City, Illinois.
Karl grew up in Piper City, graduating from Piper City High School in 1946. He worked as a Dairy Worker in Illinois, New Mexico and California for nearly 30 years. He came to Lompoc area in 1983 from Escondido, California. He was a member of the Lompoc Valley Baptist Church and was a volunteer for the Mussell Senior Center in Santa Maria for 15 years.
Karl is survived by his sisters; Karen (Richard) Payne of Lompoc, Betty (Hermon) Atkins of Thorndale, Texas, June Schnoor of Wonewoc, Wisconsin, and brother, Paul Perkins of Napa, California. He was preceded in death by brothers, Adison and Robert Perkins and sister, Mae Ella Walker.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, April 1, 2010 at 4:30pm at the Lompoc Baptist Church on 700 E. College Avenue, with Pastor Collins presiding. A reception will follow the service. Donations can be made in memory of Karl to the Lompoc Valley Baptist Church Building Fund or a charity of your choice.
