Obituary
Katherine A. "Kitty" Bauer, age 77 of Lompoc, passed away Sunday, September 7, 2008 at her home.
She was born June 5, 1931 in Pennsylvania to Joseph and Catherine Brasch. She came to Lompoc in 1961 from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and was very active in the community. She was a 40-year member of the American Legion Auxiliary 125, a 35-year member of Lompoc Women of the Moose and a long-time volunteer for the Lompoc Hospital Auxiliary.
Katherine's business career included 30 years in civil service as an executive secretary for the United States Air Force. For the last 12 years she worked part-time in various capacities for the Lompoc Police Department.
She is survived by her son, Richard Macgurn of Costa Rica, two brothers, Joseph J. Brasch of Kuernach, Germany and Robert J. Brasch of Azle, Texas, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Michael G. Bauer.
A memorial service will take place Friday, September 12, 2008 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Moose Lodge 1036, 124 North I Street in Lompoc. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the Lompoc Hospital Auxiliary.
Arrangements are under the direction of Starbuck-Lind Mortuary.
